  • Assistant Priest (House for Duty)

    The Benefice of Northanger is looking for an Assistant Priest to work alongside our Rector across the 8 parishes of our rural benefice (including Chawton the home of Jane Austen). The Assistant Priest will play a leading role in nurturing ministry in all our parishes and engage with the wider community, especially our local schools.

    The post offers supportive clergy and lay colleagues and a 4 bed house in the picturesque village of Selborne.

    We seek a priest who draws on the riches of scripture, tradition and the beliefs and practices of the Church of England. Is able to use the resources of the Church of England in BCP and Common Worship faithfully and imaginatively and with empathy to the worship currently offered by the congregations. Has an aptitude for inspiring, motivating and empowering others and has a sensitivity for and understanding of the varied pastoral needs of the community.
