- We attended Rev Caleb’s installation as the new Dean at St Peter’s Cathedral; a very joyous occasion where Rev Nicky was invited to be an integral part of the service.
- We visited schools who have links with schools in our Deanery to promote and encourage their commitment to each other.
- We attended a commissioning and blessing by Bishop Dan, Bishop of Kinkiizi, of a new block for staff accommodation which is a shared project between Christchurch Deanery and Kinkiizi Diocese’s Nyakatare Health Centre facility.
- The Mothers’ Union branch at St Peter’s Cathedral have launched a bakery project which we have encouraged and joined with them in creating. We shared a wonderful day of fellowship baking bread and cakes to sell at the Dean’s installation service!
Out Of Africa - Avon Valley Partnership

Our Deanery of Christchurch is linked with Kinkiizi Diocese in SW Uganda. Its a very active link underpinned by our shared Christian faith, and a team from here usually visits every year.
Here are some of the things we did on our recent 12 day visit in February:
At Nyakatare Primary School we received a lovely banner created by them out of naturally occurring and recycled materials to bring back as a gift for Hale Primary School.
At Rwangoboka Primary School who are linked with Breamore Primary School here, the children were excited to greet us with singing and dancing and show us around their school.
