School soup kitchen serving the local town
Pupils from Priory School in Christchurch have established a soup kitchen to offer food to local residents. The kitchen was established in June on Christchurch high street and since then has served a number of local people. All of the soup served is made by the pupils using vegetables supplied by a local greengrocer.
Volunteers from Priory Church are now supporting the children's work, and other schools have been invited to help out too.
Headteacher, Claire King said: “We are supporting the school trust deed – to serve the poor and needy of the community – and it’s good for the students to be aware that there are people in need in the local community.”
