Our clergy and lay staff are amazing and so important to serving our communities, but COVID-19 means we need help to continue to meet the costs of their stipends and their salaries.

Challenging Times for Our Churches

As churches and church halls remain closed, parishes are facing reduced income and a difficult financial challenge. The diocese is no different, with donations to the Common Mission Fund at risk. The Diocesan Board of Finance has a limited ability to make up the shortfall.

We need to continue to pay our clergy and support staff throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to continue living out the mission of Jesus across our region, which is as important now than it ever has been!

Can you help?

Please continue to support your local church.

However, if in addition to this, you are able to give to the Diocese of Winchester, your donation will be used to help support the mission and ministry of our diocese, including paying for clergy now and in the coming months. Our ministry is so important at this moment for both those in the church and in our communities. Our churches and clergy will be needed more than over in the coming months and will face many challenges – they receive no government support and rely only on generous giving.

This is where you can help.

Please give now, as generously as you feel able, to ensure that we can continue to offer the love of Christ to as many people as we can at this time.
