Mothers' Union in the Diocese
The Mothers' Union (MU) is a global organisation of 3.7 million members in 78 countries, which supports family life in all its forms and by so doing, shares the Christian faith.
In the Diocese of Winchester the Mothers' Union actively seeks to provide support and care for families, both in local communities and through our international links. Through our work people can experience the love of Christ, and have the opportunity to discover or develop a personal relationship with God. It works closely with the Diocese and its Bishops on many projects including ones aimed at highlighting poverty and inequality, issues in the criminal justice system and raising awareness of needs abroad.
Alison Hudson, Diocesan President of the Mothers' Union Winchester Diocese, said: "To fulfil our mission of promoting the wellbeing of families worldwide, we need to keep ourselves informed of what is happening. This website will enable anyone, not just our members, to know what is happening in our diocese and in our overseas prayer links. It will allow our prayers to be better focused and encourage us into actions, either in our local communities or further afield, where we can make a difference."
Three times a year the Mothers' Union in the Diocese produces a newsletter, entitled 'Archway'.
