Prayer resources

There are many easy to follow resources about prayer, which can help you learn more about it as a concept and to practice it personally.

The Church of England main site has a useful learn to pray page which also includes details of some print resources. Another Church of England website 'invitation to prayer' has a selection of carefully thought through prayers for peace, justice and reconciliation that may be useful.

The Church of England has produced resources for those affected by redundancy and the financial crisis.

The Diocese produces a cycle of prayers. These are called Intercessions, a technical word for the action of pleading on behalf of another, which has been taken up by the church to describe our prayers for others. Praying for others is shown throughout the Bible to be a powerful and effective way of reaching God.
