Oratorio performance at Romsey Abbey
4 July 2012

AN ORATORIO that premiered at the English Music Festival in 2006 is set to be performed in Romsey Abbey this September.
Composed by David Norris, the Oratorio will feature some fabulous performers including the Waynflete Singers and choristers from New College, Oxford.
Three-parts long, the composition focuses on the theme of ‘Tradition and Change’ and is based on excerpts from the Book of Common Prayer.
Describing the piece on his website, David said: “Most of the words are from the Book of Common Prayer, whose Prefaces across four centuries are a testament to the inevitability of change, and a witness to our enduring resistance to it.”
A live recording of the performance will be made with a CD release to follow.
The event will take place on Friday 14 September at 7.30pm and tickets range from £10-15.
For more information and to book tickets contact the Box Office on 01794 512987 or visit www.davidowennorris.com/prayerbook.
