Representatives from the Diocese of Winchester have travelled to Myanmar for a series of visits within the Province aimed at improving the Church’s shared work in education and understanding about the importance of social engagement.
Diocesan Chief Executive Andrew Robinson has been joined by Nick Ralph from the Winchester Social Enterprise and Jo Waller on this factfinding visit, which over the course of this week will include visits to an old age home and a school for the deaf, as well as meetings with coffee growers and the Myanmar Development Department. The first meeting of the trip, with the Archbishop of Myanmar and Bishop of Yangon, the Most Revd Stephen Than Myint Oo, took place on Monday evening.
The Diocese of Winchester has been a partner in mission with the Province of Myanmar for over 130 years. Find out more about the Diocesan Mission partnerships here.
