Many LLMs already have a valuable ministry in taking funeral services, but would like to brush up their skills. Others would love to begin this ministry, but feel daunted by all that is involved. This training day is designed for LLMs new and experienced who would like to reflect on what funeral ministry is all about, and to learn more about all the resources that are available for creative and appropriate funeral and memorial services.
The day will be led by Revd David Deboys, Team Vicar in Southampton City Centre and former Secretary to the Funeral Rites Group of the Liturgical Commission (planning for Common Worship), and until recently Worship Officer for the Diocese of Gloucester, and by Revd Paul Dunthorne, Mission and Training Adviser for the Diocese of Winchester, course leader for LLM training and an experienced parish priest. (NB – post-funeral pastoral care will be covered in a later training day.)
To book, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and send a cheque for £10 made payable to WDBF to Lesley Grimm, Diocesan Office, Wolvesey, Winchester SO23 9ND.
