All Saints Church
On Saturday 8 July, the All Saints’ Fundraising Committee will be organising an event to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the death of Jane Austen, All Saints’ Church, Upper Clatford, near Andover. The event will start at 7.30pm.
There will be a talk by Jane Maxwell entitled ‘Jane Austen: Hampshire’s Most
Famous Lady’ which will cover many of her family connections, and focuses on the days leading up to her death in Winchester supported by her family.
Following the interval, when refreshments will be served, the Hampshire Regency Dancers will re-create the atmosphere of the balls which Jane Austen attended in Hampshire and which featured so prominently in her novels.
To complement the event, there will be an art display of children’s drawings of a Hampshire village in 1800 by local school children.

All proceeds are in aid of All Saints’ Church, Upper Clatford and the Jane Austen Society.
All Saints’ Church is situated to the south of the main village street in Church Lane, and is close to the A303.
