Service of Celebration

Saturday October 18, Winchester Cathedral

A date for your diary!

On Saturday Oct 18 at 12 noon there will be a Diocesan service to celebrate twenty years of shared priestly ministry in the Church of England,  remembering  that we have  been ordaining women to the priesthood since 1994, following the historic vote of  1992.

The service, on the feast of St Luke, will celebrate the sharing of ministry in the  diocese and will look forward to the exciting  hopes and possibilities for mission and ministry which inspire and challenge us.

This is an occasion for shared celebration, women and men,lay and ordained, experienced and youthful. It is not intended to be either a service for women or a reunion, we hope to celebrate and pray for the Spirit to send us forward with fresh hope, joy and courage. The Revd Su Wallace, Precentor at Winchester Cathedral, will preside and the Revd Julia Mourant, Vocations Adviser and Diocesan Director of Ordinands, will preach.

Please email julia.mourant@winchester.anglican.org if you would like a lunch ticket. Space for lunch is limited, so please let Lesley know as soon as you can if you’d like a ticket.

Please come and bring lots of people. We hope the service itself will generate new vocations!

dMAP celebration Service

Saturday 22 November 2014
Refreshments 11am
12noon Eucharist

All are invited to celebrate the work and achievement of producing Deanery Mission Action Plans (dMAPs) in all 13 Deaneries on the mainland.  We will offer them with thanks to God for the energy and wisdom that has been engaged to develop them, and pray for their implementation over the coming years.  This service will also include the launch of Parish MAPs (pMAPs).  There will be prayer resources available on the day to help us to prepare ourselves and our churches for pMAPs during the season of Advent.  Our new Archdeacon for Mission Development, Revd. Dr. Paul Moore will preach, and Bishop Tim will preside.  Do come and celebrate with us.

Please ensure that your church members know about this, and let us know if you plan to come by emailing frances.terhaar@winchester.anglican.org to help give us an idea of numbers.  If you have any other queries, please contact Revd. Phil Dykes phil.dykes@winchester.anglican.org
