Chaplaincies and Special Ministries
The Church of England, with the support of the Diocese of Winchester, helps provide comprehensive chaplaincy services to many hospitals, prisons and schools and pastoral services are also made available to a number of areas of industry, commerce and social.
These ministries are frequently shared 'ecumenically' - that is, with clergy or leaders of other churches - and sometimes they operate at a 'multifaith' level, alongside other faith leaders. Diocesan clergy and others are also active in local media and a variety of less high-profile areas of local life.
