Working to and with the Bishop of Winchester, the post of Chief Executive shares in the leadership and policy formation within the Diocese. It is a key role, advising on strategy, policy, procedure and resources. As Chief Executive of the Diocesan Board of Finance the post holder is responsible for the leadership ultimate managerial oversight of all the staff employed by the Board across the various departments and in the wider Diocese.
As Secretary to the Diocesan Synod the Chief Executive is responsible for ensuring that decisions made by the various Boards and Committees are implemented, making best use of the resources available.
Andrew Robinson was appointed Chief Executive of the Diocese of Winchester in 2008.
Andrew holds a range of other appointments including: Chair – Hampshire Good Neighbours Network; Director – King Alfred Academy Trust; Director – Winchester and Portsmouth Multi Academy Umbrella Trust; Member – National Safeguarding Strategy and Policy Group; Chair – National Reward and Remuneration Group; Director – Winchester Social Enterprise; Lay Canon – Winchester Cathedral.
Since 2000 Andrew has been a commissioned officer in the Royal Naval Reserve and has undertaken a variety of roles in this capacity; since 2013 he has been the Naval Equerry to HRH Prince Michael of Kent.
